Let's Try This Again

Bellator 120 will be the organizations second attempt at a Pay-per-view event. It will air May 17th. Trying to make this run more successful than the first, Bellator has put together a less transparent main event than Quinton Rampage Jackson vs Tito Ortiz.

Michael Chandler will face Eddie Alvarez for the third time with the lightweight title on the line. Both men hold a win over one another, in match ups that rank amongst Bellator's best.
Two of the top lightweights in the world, these athletes bring validity to a number two organization. Foregoing their usual tournament style, Bellator is hoping an immediate third match up will help MMA fans open their wallets.

In the co-main event, Rampage Jackson fights to keep up his recent win streak by toppling Muhammad 'King Mo' Lawal. The final of Bellator's most recent light heavyweight tournament, the winner will become the number one contender to face champion Emanuel Newton.

The tournament was set up to have these two face each other, to bring together the biggest names Bellator has to offer. Obviously the hope is Rampage will walk away with a victory, since King Mo has failed twice in fights against Newton. Bellator is banking on the bad blood between these fighters to help promote the fight.

Tito Ortiz will also make an appearance on this card, having accepted an interesting challenge against middleweight champion Alexander Shlemenko. Wanting to make a name for himself Shlemenko called out Ortiz, plus agreed to meet him at light heavyweight when he accepted. On a thirteen fight win streak, Shlemenko has a better chance of coming out the winner, adding a big name to his resume.

Cheick Kongo is also slated to take on Eric Smith. We'll see how he bounces back since losing his heavyweight title shot to Vitaly Minakov.

It's a well put together Pay-per-view. Bellator must have learned from their past digressions. Will fans purchase a Bellator card? With this line up it would be surprising if they didn't.
