Bellator Card Update

Bellator is now face to face with another Pay-per-view nightmare. For the second time their main event has been canceled due to injury. Originally planned as the the third go around between former lightweight champion Michael Chandler and current lightweight champion Eddie Alvarez, it has been scrapped. To replace it the co-main event of Muhammad 'King Mo' Lawal vs Quinton 'Rampage' Jackson will take it's place.

Eddie Alvarez suffered a concussion in practice, he will be forced to miss the event. Chandler though is still healthy, ready to fight. Will Brooks has been called up to give him a challenge. On a four fight win streak, including his most recent a unanimous decision over Alexander Sarnvskiy, Brooks has only tasted defeat once in his career.

To up the stakes Brooks vs Chandler will be for an interim title. If Chandler can do what most of us expect him to, then he'll need to eventually face Alvarez again to decide an undisputed champion.

One of the top lightweight fighters in the world, it is always interesting to watch Chandler fight whoever it may be. A star amongst Bellator's roster, he alone may not save the Pay-per-view, but at least it gives us a reason to watch.
