Alexander Gustaffson vs Jon Jones II

Get ready because the only fight that matters is coming soon. Jon Jones battered Glover Teixeira in the night's main event, to retain his light heavyweight crown in another impressive defense. The challenger had nothing to offer the champ, who stayed in the pocket picking him apart.

The Champion Defends His Title

Tomorrow night light heavyweight champion, Jon Jones will defend his title against MMA's possible equivalent to Mike Tyson, Gloveria Teixeira. If it hasn't been expressed to fans this is THE fight to see.

Check out the build up to this match up here.

Turning Back the Clock

Dan Henderson will be officially taking on Daniel Cormier in what should be the main event at UFC 173. After his brutal TKO of Mauricio Shogun Rua in their second classic battle, he will make a quick turn around for this.

Cormier is still undefeated at 14-0. Henderson will be his first real test at light heavyweight, since dropping down a division.

Phil Davis Calls out Jon Jones

UFC 172 is this Saturday. We'll get a chance to see the UFC's biggest star (even though they fail to promote him as such) Jon Jones, defending his light heavyweight title for a record seventh time. His opponent is Gloveria Teixeira. A challenger riding a twenty fight win streak. If it wasn't for the only fight that matters, this would be the biggest match up the UFC has to offer.

Instead of taking a back seat with his co-main event bout against Anthony Johnson, Phil Davis has spoken out against the champion during their lead up to UFC 172. Yes they are facing different opponents, but Davis has been a perennial contender who isn't receiving recognition as such. Since the sole blemish on his record came from Rashad Evans, Davis has rattled off a three fight win streak over a two year period.

Werdum vs Velasquez

Fabrico Werdum earned his number one contender spot on Saturday, at UFC on Fox 11. Most thought he would fall to Browne, but as you can see here. That wasn't the case.

Werdum weathered an early storm to show fans he was the man to fight Cain Velasquez. Whenever this fight will take place is beyond me, due to the champion's lingering injuries. He was the quicker fighter and the more skilled fighter. Out striking Browne to a unanimous decision victory.
