Alexander Gustaffson vs Jon Jones II

Get ready because the only fight that matters is coming soon. Jon Jones battered Glover Teixeira in the night's main event, to retain his light heavyweight crown in another impressive defense. The challenger had nothing to offer the champ, who stayed in the pocket picking him apart.
Up next is the highly touted rematch of Jone's toughest bout against Alexander Gustaffson last September. Challenging for the title again after ending Jimi Manuwa's win streak, this fight will be well worth the wait. A must see for any fan of the sport.

Other notes from the card include the birth of a new contender in their division, Anthony Johnson. I might have jump the gun with Phil Davis. He had absolutely nothing to offer in this match. Johnson surprisingly for a former welterweight, was the bigger fighter. He bullied Davis to a unanimous decision victory. Co-main event for UFC 179: Gustaffson vs Jones II, Johnson vs (winner of Daniel Cormier and Dan Henderson) for the number one spot.

Luke Rochhold made clame to being part of the pool of fighters talked about in the middleweight division.

Jim Miller added a thirteenth victory to his overall UFC career, by submitting Yancy Medelros.

Takanori Gome eaked out a victory against Isaac Vallie-Flag, in one of the more exciting fights I've seen in a while.

Joseph Benavidez made Tim Elliott tap with his feet.

Chris Beal introduced himself to the UFC bantamweight division by nearly killing Patrick Williams with a flying knee.

And Charlie Brennerman failed in his second fight back with the UFC, being KO'd by Danny Castillo.

Great night of fights all around. This was one to see. Now with even better match ups on the horizon, there is more to look forward to in the UFC.
