Turning Back the Clock

Dan Henderson will be officially taking on Daniel Cormier in what should be the main event at UFC 173. After his brutal TKO of Mauricio Shogun Rua in their second classic battle, he will make a quick turn around for this.

Cormier is still undefeated at 14-0. Henderson will be his first real test at light heavyweight, since dropping down a division.
Henderson isn't the only one with knockout power, which can be seen here. However, he is a decade older than Cormier. Nearing his mid forties, Henderson is a unique figure in MMA. He's been able to hang with a much younger crowd over the past few years. His age though has been catching up with him, as can be seen by his previous three straight loses, concluding with his first knockout loss to Vitor Belfort.

Breaking Shogun's nose and making him forget how to lose his legs, may have added longevity to Henderson's career. It was though a fight he was losing, until his steel fists saved him. The reality is Cormier stands more of a chance of a victory here, but why not give Henderson the chance to prove us wrong. Allow Henderson to go out on his shield.
